PCCP Council on Health Informatics and Social Media:
Pioneering Digital Transformation in Pulmonary Medicine

In response to the growing influence of technology in healthcare, the PCCP Council on Health Informatics and Social Media was established as an ad-hoc council, embodying the society’s commitment to embracing innovation. This forward-thinking initiative underscores the importance of optimizing digital technology, social media, and artificial intelligence to enhance medical education, research, and practice. Central to its mission are the dynamic GEEK Camps, which empower members with the skills to effectively utilize social media in healthcare settings. The Council has also spearheaded insightful webinars, including Maximizing the Zoom Experience and Learning About ChatGPT, ensuring members remain at the forefront of digital transformation. This year, D.A.T.A. in Healthcare will be conducted this August 2025, which features didactics and workshops on Digital skills, Advancing Technology and Artificial Intelligence. Beyond its own initiatives, the Council actively collaborates with other PCCP councils, lending its expertise to amplify their activities and engagements. During the World Pneumonia Day 2024, the council played a vital role in creating buzz in social media platforms featuring local artists and influencers as advocates for vaccines and lung health. The Council also hosted an X Chat participated by our local and international peers. The PCCP Council on Health Informatics and Social Media stands as a testament to the evolving landscape of healthcare, where technology and medicine converge to shape a more connected and informed future.
