The Council on Lung Malignancy is dedicated to advancing the fight against lung cancer in the Philippines. This Council focuses intensely on early detection through screening for those with significant risk factors and raising public awareness through education campaigns and lay forums. Our advocacy efforts extend beyond embracing the emotional and social well-being of those affected by the disease. We strive to create an environment of comfort, inspiration and a strong sense of community for both lung cancer patients and their dedicated caregivers. Another deliverable of the council is to develop and establish a comprehensive lung cancer registry which aims to provide a detailed database focusing on the demographic and clinical data of Filipinos diagnosed with lung cancer. This registry can also serve as a reference for researchers enabling studies on the impact of different therapies, treatment outcomes and the identification of areas needing further research. Another target of the council, along with other medical societies, is to launch the PhilHealth Expansion of Lung Cancer Care Services, which aims to provide responsive benefit packages and continuously improve services for lung cancer patients.
